Joe Tracy

Mr. Tracy has been working in the area of connected care and innovation since 1993. Joe recently retired from overseeing the Lehigh Valley Health Network’s Center for Connected Care and Innovation, which provides more than 150,000 virtual clinical encounters a year. Joe currently serves as a member of the Advisory Board for the Mid-Atlantic Telehealth Resource Center. He is also the former Co-Chair of the Pennsylvania Telehealth Advisory Committee, a past President of the Robert J Waters Center for Telehealth and e-Health Law and a past Chair of the American Telemedicine Association’s (ATA) Institutional Council. In 2013, Joe was one of three members of the Lehigh Valley Health Network to accept the American Nursing Credentialing Center’s Magnet Prize for “Telehealth Services.”
In 2003, Mr. Tracy accepted the ATA President’s Award on behalf of the Missouri Telehealth Network and in 2006 he accepted ATA’s Leadership Award for his individual contributions to the field of telehealth. Mr. Tracy drafted the telehealth Medicare reimbursement language for the Southern Governors Association in 1999 and for U.S. Senate Bill 2505, which significantly improved Medicare reimbursement for telehealth in October 2001. Joe has also testified before Congress and the Federal Communications Commission on issues related to telehealth. Joe is also the Editor of A Guide to Getting Started in Telemedicine, published by the federal Office for the Advancement of Telehealth.
